Italian cuisine week on healthy eating

Italian cuisine embodies not only the essence of life, love and giving, but also the Mediterranean flavor.

The Week of Italian Cuisine, running in Hanoi from November 15 to 22, introduces the Italian culture and history through its extraordinary food to the Vietnamese.

Under the theme "Dining with Italian Cuisine: health with taste", the 8th annual Week of Italian Cuisine features various events in Hanoi, highlighting the importance of the Mediterranean diet, which is at the heart of the Italian identity and way of life.

Appreciated as a model of healthy and sustainable eating and living, the Week also includes a workshop on fermented foods, an art exhibition on the evolution of Italian eating habits, and another showcasing authentic Italian culinary products.

In addition, the public in Hanoi can experience the evolution of Italian eating habits in the past, present and future through works of art in the exhibition "Taste! Italians and cuisine from 1970 to 2050".

Curated by Professor Massimo Montanari, Professor of Food History at the University of Bologna, and Laura Lazzaroni, a famous writer in the culinary field, the exhibition features design works and tells the story of Italian culinary history hrough the perspective of the authors. 

The exhibition focuses on dishes and processing methods, gives visitors an overview of agriculture, livestock, food diversity, environmental and health challenges in the culinary industry, and many other perspectives surrounding the topic of Italian cuisine and culture.

"The Taste of Italy is a story about food, life, love and the spirit of sharing. We want to create a wonderful experience, not only for the senses, but also for the hearts and souls of people," said Professor Massimo Montanari.

He added that the event is a place to showcase unique and eye-catching works of art, a source of multi-dimensional information, a journey into the history, culture and spirit of the Italian people.

The exhibition is held at Casa Italia, an Italian Cultural Center in Hanoi, located at 18 Le Phung Hieu Street, Hoan Kiem District, and is open to the public every day from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Italian Cuisine Week is an annual initiative that involves the entire network of 296 diplomatic and consular missions and Italian cultural institutes around the world to promote Italian culinary culture.

Culinary culture is central to the Italian identity and lifestyle. During the week, over a thousand events are organized around the world to promote Italian cuisine and its regional varieties.
