The event, set to open on May 19 at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center, marks a highlight of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Mexico.
THE HANOI TIMES — In a vibrant step towards cultural exchange, Mexico will bring a special exhibition entitled "Journey to Ancient Mexico" to Hanoi this May, featuring 17 priceless artifacts that reveal the country's rich history and ancient civilizations.
This was announced by Mexican Ambassador Alejandro Negrin Munoz during a meeting with Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh today [April 8]. The ambassador expressed his hope that Hanoi's authorities would strongly support the upcoming exhibition, which promises to introduce Hanoi residents to Mexico's rich cultural heritage.

According to the chairman of Hanoi, past events such as "Vietnam Week", "Vietnam Day" in Mexico, and the Olmec cultural exhibition have helped strengthen understanding and ties between the people of the two nations.
Therefore, he expected the "Journey to Ancient Mexico" exhibition to serve as a unique cultural bridge and further strengthen the friendship.
During the meeting, the two sides also reviewed important milestones in Vietnam-Mexico cooperation. Ambassador Munoz emphasized Mexico's view of Vietnam as an important partner, noting that Mexico was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam after the war.
Thanh acknowledged Mexico's contributions in advancing economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries. He cited the growing presence of companies from both nations in each other's markets, including Mexico's Kidzania entertainment center at Lotte West Lake and FPT Group's Guadalajara office.
Mexico is currently Vietnam's second largest trading partner in Latin America, while Vietnam holds the same position for Mexico within ASEAN.
