Mexico’s top guitarist Juan Carlos Laguna is set to perform at the Hanoi Opera House on May 25 as part of activities to mark the 40th founding anniversary of Vietnamese-Mexican relations.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said on May 15 that the event is held by its Art Performance Organisation Centre and the Mexican Embassy.
It said the artist will also deliver a lecture at the Vietnam National Academy of Music the following day.
Born in Mexico City, Juan Carlos Laguna studied at the National School of Music of the National University of Mexico and won many international guitar competitions such as those in Japan and Puerto Rico.
He has performed at a number of international concerts, lectured at music schools in Mexico and other countries, and acted as a judge at many guitar contests. Global renowned composers have also written musical pieces exclusively for him to play and invited him to debut their works.
