Military Parade to celebrate the National Reunification Day
The National Organizing Committee for Commemoration of Major Anniversaries held an international press conference in HCM City on April 13 to announce the programs for marking the 40th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2015).
According to the organising committee, anniversary celebrations will be conducted by the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee, National Assembly, State President, Government and the Central Fatherland Front.
Various activities will take place on April 29-30 to mark the 40th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day in Hanoi and HCM City (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2015).
The programme will span two days. On April 29, ceremonies will be held in Hanoi at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Martyr Monument and in HCM City at the Martyrs’ Cemetery and Ben Duoc Memorial Temple.
Parades and marches in Le Duan Street and the April 30 Park in HCM City will be held on April 30 and broadcast live on the Vietnam Television, Radio the Voice of Vietnam and city television and radio stations.
Attendees of the myriad of events in HCM City will be leaders of the Party, State and armed forces; those involved in the 1975 Spring Offensive; international delegations; diplomatic representatives; and international organisations.
In the evening of April 30, a special art programme with 4,400 artists will be organised in HCM City.
Fireworks displays will be carried out at seven spots throughout HCM City.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan said about 597 local and international reporters have registered to cover the events.
