Miss Tourism World 2022 contestants enjoy centuries-old ceramics village

The tour helps candidates understand the traditional craft in Hanoi's Bat Trang Pottery Village, considered the cradle of ceramics in Vietnam.

Contestants in the final round of the Miss Tourism World 2022 contest on November 21 explored Bat Trang Pottery Village, which has existed since at least the 14th century.

The contestants visited ceramics and handicraft stalls, made pottery under the guidance of famous artisans, enjoyed culinary arts, and learned the unique characteristics of Ca tru (a kind of singing that uses lyrics written in traditional Vietnamese poetic forms).

They explored cultural values at the Center for Quintessence of Vietnamese Craft Village and Tieu Dao Pagoda and participated in the Bat Trang communal house festival.

These activities are expected to help them understand the cultural and historical values of the Bat Trang ceramics, highlighting five main enamel lines: jade, brown, white (ivory), celadon, and reef. Each type of enamel is associated with each period.

The candidates also created short clips to introduce the outstanding beauty of Bat Trang ceramics and other famous destinations in Hanoi.

In addition to those places, they explored other relics in the city, including Tran Quoc Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Other tourist destinations were also included in the contest agenda in Vietnam: Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Bai Dinh Pagoda (Ninh Binh Province); Special National Historical Relic of Hung Kings Temple (Phu Tho Province); Moc Chau Steppe, Moong Village’s hot springs, Dai Yem Waterfall, Pa Uon Bridge (Son La Province); Tay Thien Scenic Relic Site, Tam Dao tourist area (Vinh Phuc Province).

In the agenda, contestants from 71 countries and territories participating in the contest's final round will visit many destinations and heritage sites across Vietnam from November 14 to 26.

From November 27 to December 5, the final round of Miss Tourism World 2022, with the theme "Bringing the World to Vietnam", will take place in the Southeast Asian country. The award ceremony will be held on December 3 in Vinh Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province.
