Mutual support between the press and enterprises

To mark the 92th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 2017), a cafe talk was held for journalists and businessmen to share information, ideas as well as suggestions. At the talk, journalists and businessmen also discussed “The role of the media and the enterprises.”

Essential  role of media in business operation

The talk was jointly held by the Hanoi Small and Medium Enterprises Association (Hanoisme) and Economic & Urban Newspaper on June 17. It was aimed at contributing to improve the business environment and strengthening Hanoi’s businesses competitiveness. The café talk is held with different themes every month for enterprises of the same industry to share thoughts on the markets, customers and knowledge.

Through the media, businesses news reach the consumers.

At the talk, the Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Department of Industry and Trade, Tran Thi Phuong Lan briefed the participants on the city’s  Trade and Industry sectors performance in the first six months of 2017, tasks and orientations for the second half of this year. The Vice-chairwoman of Hanoi Trade and Tourism Promotion Center  Nguyen Thi Mai Anh informed the business community on the  results of the recent  trade promotion tour  in Japan as part of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visit to this country. She also outlined the business support policies and orientations of Hanoi in the coming time. Supporting each other for mutual growth

According to the  Editor in Chief of the Economic and Urban Newspaper Nguyen Minh Duc who is also  Vice Chairman of Hanoisme,by organizing the talk, the businesses and the media would have chance to exchange and find common grounds to grow together. Many businesses, he said, are not ready for integration and show no interest in protecting and promoting trademarks which make them less competitive in the market. That’s why the businesses and the media should talk to each other, the businesses should regard the media as part of their operation, considering them an indispensable factor for growth.

Nguyen Minh Duc also hoped that the media should support the businesses. “The Economic & Urban newspaper, true to its mission, will regularly assist enterprises, especially startup enterprises”,  he said, adding that  “The newspaper will continue to reserve a free section reflecting the production and business activities and information on businessproducts. However, the business community must also consider the Economic and Urban Newspaper as your own newspaper, so the two sides can cooperate and disseminate information.”

Nguyen Minh Duc stressed that the newspaper together with  Hanoisme and relevant agencies will invite Hanoi leaders to join the monthly café talk so as for them to grasp the business community situation.
At the talk, a ceremony was held to admit new Hanoisme members.

“In the current era of integration, besides the efforts to earn reputation and to create high quality products, businesses need to pay attention to the the press. Having sufficient and professional staff to devise suitable media strategies is as crucial as to build annual production plans. In this way, the enterprises will be able to control personnel risks and product quality as well as promote their commodities effectively.” said Nguyen Minh Duc, Editor-in-Chief of the Economic and Urban Newspaper.
