Need a big picture in Hanoi-Seoul tie

That`s comment of Korean President`s special envoy during the meeting with Chairman of Hanoi`s People Committee.


On May 26, Mr Nguyen Duc Chung – Central Party’s member, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party, Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee met Mr Park Won Soon- Korean President’s special envoy, Mayor of Seoul on his trip to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Duc expressed happiness to receive Mr Park Won Soon. He sent best wishes to Korean People under the new presidency and showed the belief that with new government, relation between Seoul and Hanoi would continue to develop comprehensively and the national tie had chance to level up.

On occasion of 20th year from cooperation agreement between city Hanoi and Seoul, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung wanted that Seoul Mayor would concern, help Hanoi artist delegation to perform in Seoul in the next September. He also revealed, on the past April, Hanoi’s government collaborated with Korea Embassy hold successfully the Seoul night in Hanoi and suggest this event held annually from now as well as the Hanoi night in Seoul every September. Those activates aim to enhance mutual understanding between two capitals.
Mr Chung introduced that there are about 1.200 current Koreans working in Hanoi at the moment and hoped that Mr Park would continue to call for Korean enterprise to operate in the capital as well as Vietnam. Encouraging fields for them includes infrastructure, satellite city, tourism… Hanoi’s Chairman affirmed to create favor conditions for them to invest and do business effectively in Hanoi.
Moreover, there’re also nearly 50.000 Koreans living in Hanoi and nearby areas. Hanoi’s government would try best to ensure their security and living condition, Mr Chung pressed. Sharing the desire that the government of Korea as well as Seoul - the city would facilitate Hanoi’s enterprises to push export into Korea’s market; Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said, Hanoi hoped to maintain and develop cooperation with Seoul in Urban planning, Traffic Planning, Administrative Reform, Smart city building, electronic government… heading to multidimensional cooperation, on basis of bilateral interest.

Agreed with proposals of Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung, Envoy Park Won Soon said, it was vital for two capitals to cooperate comprehensively and Seoul ready to share experience with Hanoi in strong fields. The cooperation potentials in Seoul-Hanoi relation still open and it is necessary to create better dialogue framework. “Seoul always welcome two sides enhancing discussion via foreign affair channel, forum, high ranking delegation exchanging to carry out effective cooperation”, said the Korean president’s special envoy.
“The city-to-city relation, especially in case of Seoul and Hanoi own great meaning, creating concrete background for national tie. I really want that, together with Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee, we will paint a big picture, a promising future for two cities, two countries”, according to Mr Park Won Soon.
