New foreign language exemptions for high school graduation exam
The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has issued an exemption to foreign languages for the high school graduation exam next year.
The ministry will apply the exemption to high school students who meet certain the requirements. In order to qualify, student will have had to attend the international foreign language olympiad, possess one foreign language certificate valid until June 9, have a score 400 on the TOEFL ITP 400, 32 for the TOEFL iBT, scored 400 on the TOEIC granted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), a 3.5 on the IELTS granted by Educational Testing Service (ETS), British Council or the IDP Education for English.

For Russian, those exempted must have been certified by TORFL Basic Level given by the Russian Culture and Science Centre, and standard French certificates will include TCF A2, DELF A2, and CEFP 1, granted by the French Culture Centre.
Standard Chinese certificates can be certified with HSK level 2, German certificates include Start Deutsch 2 and DSD A2, both granted by the Goethe Institute. Accepted Japanese certificates will be from JLPT level 4 by the Japanese International Exchange Foundation.
Universities and colleges nationwide will work on regulations for the enrollment of students who benefit from the exemption.
