It is no doubt that Hanoi`s status would be enhanced after the Trump-Kim summit, especially through the eyes of foreign reporters coming to the country.

The second North Korea – US summit taking place on February 27 – 28 proves to be a high-profile event of global importance, which is at the center of international attention. Being one of the two major economic hubs of Vietnam, Hanoi sees the event as a golden opportunity to promote its image to the world, according to experts.

Hanoi with its millenary history is stepping into the Fourth Industrial Revolution with a bright outlook.

Thanks to significant improvements in the infrastructure, Hanoi has been transformed into a modern and civilized city, Chinh said. As the destination for the North Korea – US second summit, Hanoi holds an important role in the global agenda.

This is also an opportunity for Vietnam’s capital to address its shortcomings and realize the full potential to continue its strong development in the coming time.

Over the past few days, the central government, Hanoi’s authority and locals have given priority to the success of the North Korea – US second summit. The Hanoi People’s Committee has requested every department and unit to ensure the perfect preparation for the summit.

Hanoi as the host of the summit showed that it has gathered necessary conditions to be the destination of regional and international events. Over the past few years, the city has been recognized by the world community as a safe place for tourism with growing number of visitors every year.

This is my fourth time in Vietnam, but the first time as a reporter. I have been in Hanoi since February 24 in preparation for the upcoming North Korea – US summit. We have been quite busy trying to access information regarding the visit of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Vietnam.

We feel comfortable working in Hanoi with high security in place, yet peaceful, while the food is great, especially coffee!

The North Korea – US summit would have a major impact on Vietnam, showing the country’s openness and responsibility in resolving regional and global issues.

The event is expected to open up new opportunities for Vietnam to make a stronger push in tourism, investment and trade. Vietnam – a peaceful country, would become an ideal destination for international friends.

Moreover, I hope that US President Donald Trump would have a positive view on Vietnam, especially in the context of US – China trade friction.
