Phu Quoc among Asia’s new hot destinations

Tired of the same old vacation spots, so broaden your horizons with these five great holiday destinations in Asia.

Phu Quoc island in Vietnam's southern Kien Giang province has been ranked third among the new amazing destinations that will surprise you, according to a list released by Around DB, a high-quality community magazine.

Around DB advises travelers that if you are tired of the usual beach spots in Thailand or Bali, so turn your view to the blamy island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam. The island’s lush jungles, rugged mountains and many kilometers of protected coastline provide a safe haven its native dugong, alongside plenty of other rich marine life in the surrounding reefs.
“Phu Quoc is renowned for its pristine, white, sandy beaches with Sao Beach on the south-eastern coast purportedly the whitest of all. This idyllic island is easily accessed via connections in Bangkok on Cathay Pacific and Bangkok Airways,” Around DB wrote.
Coron (Palawan, Philippines), tops the list, followed by Luang Prabang (Laos), Phu Quoc islands (Kien Giang province, Vietnam), Ishigaki (Japan), Sri Lanka.
Earlier, Phu Quoc island in Vietnam's southernmost province of Kien Giang has been ranked fourth among the top five up-and-coming Asia-Pacific destinations to visit this fall, according to a list released by CNN, a US news-based cable and satellite television channel.
“If you’re dreaming of a beach getaway in Asia this fall, Phu Quoc in Vietnam should be a top contender. It's is just an hour from Ho Chi Minh City and offers a 30-day visa exemption policy for all foreign passports, CNN wrote.
CNN advises travelers that there are plenty to do aside from lounging and snorkeling around Ong Lang beach in Phu Quoc. The Phu Quoc Prison museum offers a peek into the island’s dark history while the Phu Quoc National Park and Suoi Tranh Waterfall will spoil nature lovers.
As for the food, this island is famous for its fish sauce, so don’t miss every chance to try it which shouldn’t be hard, seeing as it’s a main ingredient of most Vietnamese dishes.
