When tourists are looking for a quiet beach vacation, they often don’t look to Vietnam to find their paradise. But Phu Quoc is made up of 28 islands that are uninhabited or used for private resorts.
According to The Travel, the sand in Phu Quoc is soft and white, the beaches are serene, silent, without being overloaded by tourists. “These islands are warm year-round boasting an average of 80 degrees. The best part is that luxury hotels are being built on these islands, making it a go-to spot for tourists looking for a new sunny place to vacation,” The Travel wrote.
The Finger Lakes (New York, the US) tops the list, followed by Monteverde (Costa Rica), Koh Chang (Thailand), Phu Quoc islands (Kien Giang province, Vietnam), Bacalar (Mexico), Copenhagen (Denmark), Kathmandu (Nepal), etc.
Earlier, Phu Quoc island has been ranked fourth among the top five up-and-coming Asia-Pacific destinations to visit this fall, according to a list released by CNN, a US news-based cable and satellite television channel.
“If you’re dreaming of a beach getaway in Asia this fall, Phu Quoc in Vietnam should be a top contender. It's is just an hour from Ho Chi Minh City and offers a 30-day visa exemption policy for all foreign passports," CNN wrote.
CNN advises travelers that there are plenty to do aside from lounging and snorkeling around Ong Lang beach in Phu Quoc. The Phu Quoc Prison museum offers a peek into the island’s dark history while the Phu Quoc National Park and Suoi Tranh Waterfall will spoil nature lovers.
As for the food, this island is famous for its fish sauce, so don’t miss every chance to try it which shouldn’t be hard, seeing as it’s a main ingredient of most Vietnamese dishes.
