Phu Quoc International Airport receives Airport Health Accreditation certification

Airports achieving this accreditation are one step closer to opening their doors to foreign travelers through the “Vaccine passport” pilot launched in Phu Quoc.

Phu Quoc International Airport has received the Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) certificate from the Airports Council International (ACI).

This certification validates Phu Quoc International Airport's dedication to maintaining excellent health and hygiene standards in accordance with international norms.

Phu Quoc International Airport, according to ACI, must undergo an extensive review procedure for measures to ensure health and safety at the airport in order to receive AHA certification.

Cleaning and disinfection procedures, distancing measures, staff health protection program, mining site layout, passenger communication measures, and passenger equipment must all meet the highest requirements of the civil aviation sector are the six evaluation aspects to be recognized.

The AHA program was created by Airports Council International to assist airports around the world in showing to passengers, staff, regulators, and governments that the airport places a high priority on passenger health and safety by implementing specific safety measures in the fight against the spread of Covid-19.

Airports achieving this accreditation are one step closer to opening their doors to foreign travelers through the “Vaccine passport” pilot launched in Phu Quoc.

Phu Quoc International Airport is the fifth airport under the Airports Corporation of Vietnam - ACV to achieve AHA certification (after Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, and Cam Ranh airports).

According to the spokesperson from Phu Quoc International Airport, this is an encouragement to the port’s workers to keep working on improving safety measures in order to prevent and control the pandemic while also building customer trust while flying.

This will also serve as a foundation for governments in other nations to investigate and restore international routes between certified airports, thereby establishing a safe travel corridor and reducing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

By October 28, 2021, it is expected that 99.8% of officials and personnel at Phu Quoc International Airport will have had two shots, ensuring the safety of officers, employees, and passengers on flights to and from the port.
