Phuong Dong Asahi Nursing Home project inaugurated in Hanoi

The project is expected to be put into operation in July next year.

The ground was broken for the construction of the Phuong Dong Asahi Nursing Home project on July 12, with a total investment of nearly VND800 billion (US$34.3 million) and in an area of 7,000 square meters by Phuong Dong Medical Complex Co., Ltd.

The project is expected to be carried out in one year and put into operation in July 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Cong Minh, General Director of Phuong Dong Medical Complex said that Vietnam is one of the countries with the fastest population aging rate in the world. As the proportion of the elderly increases, the demand for health and social services also surges.

In urban areas like Hanoi, taking care of the old people is becoming increasingly hard due to the pressures of urban life.

"These factors propitiate our decision to build the Nursing Home following the Japanese standard geriatric model to improve the quality of life and provide comprehensive care to the elderly," he stressed.

It will provide a variety of services, including inpatient care for the elderly with long-term needs or the elderly with underlying or serious illnesses, semi-boarding care for busy families, or the elderly who want to experience world-class nursing care services.

The Nursing Home also has a library, reading room, music listening, and movie screening room, among other recreational facilities.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Phan Van Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly said this project is of great significance to the Phuong Dong Medical Complex and the elderly. There are currently 12 million old people in Vietnam but the country lacks care services for them.
