The Government has approved the general planning scheme for Nam Can Economic Zone in the Southern province of Ca Mau.
The new EZ, with the total natural area of over 10.801ha, includes the current Nam Can township, Ham Rong, Hang Vinh and Dat Moi Communes.
It is designed to be the international transport hub of Ca Mau province and the Mekong Delta with major industries of mechanics, shipbuilding, financial service, telecommunication and others.
The EZ’s population is expected to reach 45,000, including 28,000 urban residents. The total figure is forecast to rise to 90,000 by 2030.
