PM supports the proposal to launch Vietnam - Yunnan direct flight

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Governor Chen Hao of Yunnan province, China in Hanoi on May 11 during his working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, the PM said Vietnam and China in general, Vietnamese and Chinese localities, including Lao Cai and Van Nam in particular, need to strengthen further their economic, trade, investment and tourism links by promoting the implementation of transport connections and simplifying immigration and export-import procedures.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has expressed his support to the Chinese province of Yunnan ’s proposal to open a direct flight to Vietnam and build a cross-border economic cooperation zone with the northern border province of Lao Cai. 
Localities sharing a common borderline should organise regular meetings and people-to-people exchanges to raise mutual trust and understanding, the PM added. 
The host also requested sincere and goodwill collaboration for a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development. 
At the reception, Governor Chen said his visit to Vietnam is to further boost friendly cooperative relations with Vietnamese ministries and localities.
The Governor also proposed a number of provisions on transport links by road, rail between the two countries, launching direct flights from Kunming, capital of Yunnan province to Hanoi and HCM City.
He suggested promoting investment and trade through exhibitions and fairs, including the Kunming international fair. 
Governor Chen said Yunnan would do its best to deliver on commitments made by leaders, especially those regarding economic, trade, investment and tourism connections. 
Expressing his impressed to the Vietnamese social- economic achievements, Governor Chen Hao expressed his belief that Vietnam will achieve success on its national construction and development.
