The price of flowers and fruits for the July full moon day, which falls on August 12 sharply increased, much higher than on previous days at some traditional markets of Hanoi.

According to a small trader at Thanh Xuan Bac wet market, the price of daisy flowers is high this year due to the hot weather, and the number of daisies in Hanoi growing areas has decreased.
Most daisy flowers are imported from Dalat, the capital city of the southern province of Lam Dong. |
Dalat roses cost about VND60,000 ($2.5) - VND70,000 ($3) per dozen depending on the type, stable price. Gladiolus flowers is priced from VND130,000 ($5.5) - VND150,000 ($6.4) per dozen, an increase of about VND30,000 ($1.3) – VND50,000 ($2.1) per dozen flowers compared to that of normal days. |
Dang Thi Thuy, a resident in Nam Tu Liem District, said: "Although this fruit shop gives the prices higher than others at the wet market, I am assured of their food safety because these fruits have traceability stamps." |
The selling price of fruits on July 11 increased by about VND10,000 ($0.4) - VND30,000 ($1.3) per kilo depending on the type. |
