Prime Minister urges quick construction of National Exhibition Center
Once completed, the center is expected to be a venue for major international and regional events.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the speedy construction of the National Exhibition Center and Tu Lien Bridge in Dong Anh District to create iconic landmarks for Hanoi when he inspected the project on October 25.

Located in Dong Hoi and Xuan Canh communes, the project, which was kicked off two months ago by Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center JSC, with Vingroup holding an 80% stake, would replace the smaller facility located on congested Giang Vo Street in Ba Dinh District.
He stressed the importance of establishing mechanisms to effectively mobilize social resources, especially for major programs and projects. He advocated the principle of "aligning interests and sharing risks" to balance the needs of the state, the public, and businesses.
The Prime Minister described the new National Exhibition Center as a modern, multi-functional facility for large-scale economic, cultural, scientific, technological, and tourism events to promote Vietnam's image. The Prime Minister hoped that this complex would boost Dong Anh's development.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining modern architectural standards while ensuring the safety, working conditions, and well-being of affected residents.
The center is expected to become operational in July 2025 to host key events such as the 14th National Party Congress, the 50th anniversary of the National Reunification, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Covering an area of 90 hectares, it is expected to be one of the ten largest exhibition centers in the world.
The complex will feature an indoor exhibition hall designed to resemble the mythical Golden Turtle, divided into nine zones with a total built area of over 130,000 square meters, as well as four outdoor exhibition parks covering 20.6 hectares.
Additional facilities will include two indoor exhibition halls, a conference and wedding center, a Class A office tower, and a five-star hotel to be managed by Marriott, along with various support structures.
Regarding the Tu Lien Bridge project, the Prime Minister agreed to the construction of the bridge over the Red River connecting Tay Ho District to Dong Anh District. He urged transparency and legal compliance in its implementation, balancing the interests of residents, businesses, and the State.
The Tu Lien Bridge is intended to be an architectural landmark reflecting Hanoi's rich history, not merely a transportation project, PM Chinh stressed.
