At the groundbreaking ceremony on December 26, Nguyen Truong Son, Chairman of the Quoc Oai People's Committee, reported that the district is home to 17 traditional artisan villages and nearly 3,490 workshops engaged in textile, woodworking, engineering, and food processing.
He added that the Hanoi People's Committee has approved the establishment of three new industrial clusters of Ngoc My-Thach Than, Nghia Huong, and the expansion of Ngoc Liep Industrial Cluster to create business space for local workshops and individual households.
The Ngoc My-Thach Than Industrial Cluster will span 210,000 square meters with an investment of VND438 billion (US$17.2 million), developed by DSG Invest Infrastructure JSC. The Nghia Huong cluster will cover 120,000 square meters with an investment of VND277 billion ($10.9 million), led by Minh Ha Invest Co., Ltd. The expansion of the Ngoc Liep cluster will add 95,000 square meters with an investment of VND193 billion ($7.6 million) by Long Thanh Transportation Construction JSC.
Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Deputy Director of Hanoi's Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized that the three industrial clusters will significantly enhance the industrial and service sectors in the district, particularly in Ngoc My, Thach Than, Nghia Huong and Ngoc Liep communes. "The projects aim to reduce environmental pollution and promote sustainable industrial development in the locality," she said.
Oanh instructed the department's subordinate units to work with district authorities to facilitate project implementation. She also promised that her department would regularly monitor progress and advise the Hanoi People's Committee on effective management solutions to ensure the clusters' timely commissioning.
For investors, the Deputy Director urged them to allocate resources and machinery to accelerate the construction of infrastructure in industrial clusters and attract secondary investors to maximize project efficiency and contribute to the socio-economic development of Quoc Oai.
