Putting Hanoi - Toulouse partnerships to new heights

On September 12 afternoon, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Ngo Van Quy has received delegation of Toulouse (France), led by Mr. Jean-Clause Dardelet, Deputy Mayor to visit and work in Vietnam, on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Hanoi - Toulouse relation establishment.

At the meeting, both sides reviewed 20 years (1996 - 2016) of establishing friendly relations and cooperation between Hanoi and Toulouse, the assessment results are very positive. Toulouse has helped Hanoi to successfully and effectively implement large projects, particularly in the field of preservation and promotion for heritage values ​​of Hanoi's Old Quarter, planning and urban management, training, cultural and artistic exchange, that bring practical benefit to the community and significant contribution to the Capital's construction and development.

Mr. Jean-Clause Dardelet said that the two cities have similarities to develop the scale, role and position; in culture, there are world heritages recognized by UNESCO. He appreciated Hanoi's vision and new strategy for development, attaching the conservation of cultural heritage, environmental concern, positive security policies, towards developing tourism and key economic sectors. "I'm so happy, Hanoi recently organized walking streets, project of planting millions of trees. This is a true direction for development, ensuring sustainable."

"Experience shows that, anywhere to be maintaining cultural conservation will develop tourism and attract investment from other fields," said Jean-Clause Dardelet. He also stressed that Toulouse is willing to share and help Hanoi in the fields that the city has lots of experiences.

On behalf of the Capital's Authority and People, Vice Chairman Ngo Van Quy thanked the Government and People of Toulouse City to help and support Hanoi for 20 years; at the mean time wishing to continue receiving attention and support of Toulouse City in the next stage.

The two parties also agreed that in the coming time, in addition to continuing to strengthen the signed cooperation program, the two cities will expand cooperation in depth in the fields of hi-tech, health, education, tourism, trade and facilitation for enterprises of Vietnam - France in general and Hanoi - Toulouse cooperation in particular.

Vice Chairman Ngo Van Quy moved greetings and gratitute of Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung to Toulouse City's Mayor and wishing that the visit of Toulouse City's delegation in Vietnam will be a success; wishing the friendly relations between Hanoi and Toulouse will be constantly developed in sustainability and efficiency.

In the evening, Vice Chairman Ngo Van Quy attended the art show of unique ballet by artists and actors of the Capitole Toulouse Theatre, as the gift from delegation of Toulouse to Hanoi, on the anniversary of the two friendly relation establishment.
