Representatives from nearly 50 countries attend 3rd int'l poetry festival
Ongoing literary events are taking place to create a cordial atmosphere of exchange among the delegates, showing a desire for peace and humanity.
The 4th international conference on Vietnamese literature and the 3rd international poetry festival were held on February 16 in Hanoi with the participation of nearly 200 poets, writers and translators from 46 countries and territories around the world.
Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association Huu Thinh emphasized that since the first conference on Vietnamese literature was held in 2002, more Vietnamese literature works have been translated and published in the world, receiving warm response from foreign readers.
In particular, many works have been awarded by international book fairs, publishers and national literary organizations. Many literary magazines in the world have issued special publications on Vietnamese literature. Vietnamese literary curricula are taught at international universities.
International delegates at the conference affirmed that Vietnamese literature has been changing day by day to reflect the country’s land, people, and traditional culture and today’s Vietnam.
