Russian National Orchestra to perform in Hanoi

The Russian National Orchestra, conducted by César Álvarez, will perform the Vietnamese national anthem and classical music.

The Russian National Orchestra (RNO) will perform at the Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi on October 12-13 as part of the Vietnam Airlines Classic - Hanoi Concert (VACC 2024).

The program, under the joint auspices of the Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Airlines, and Thanh Viet Production, marks the 70th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2024).

According to Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, the RNO will perform the Vietnamese National Anthem and classical music on the first night under the direction of César Álvarez from Spain, one of today's most respected conductors. The performance will feature Russian-Armenian piano soloist Eva Gevorgyan.
The second night of the show on October 13 will feature some ballet excerpts performed by leading dancers of the Bolshoi Theater.

Musician Quoc Trung, General Director of the program, said that this year's VACC will not be held in the open air as in previous years but inside the Ho Guom Theater, which has been recognized by the World Travel Awards as one of the top 10 opera houses in the world, promising audiences a special concert with top experiences and unforgettable impressions.
The RNO was founded in Moscow in 1990 by conductor Mikhail Pletnev. Over the past 30 years, the orchestra has achieved international fame and acclaim, becoming the embodiment of Russian musical traditions. In 2004, the orchestra became the first in Russian history to win a Grammy Award.

In 2004, the Russian National Symphony Orchestra became the first orchestra in the history of Russian symphony orchestras to receive a Grammy Award. The most prestigious music magazine in Europe - Gramophone ranked the orchestra among the 20 best orchestras in the world.

Conductor César Álvarez (1973) is one of today's most respected conductors.

In addition to his regular work with the Russian National Orchestra and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, he works with many famous international symphony orchestras around the world.
Vietnam Airlines Classic, held for the first time in 2017, is the first outdoor classical concert in Vietnam with the participation of the London Symphony Orchestra, a famous international symphony orchestra. It is a major cultural event under the economic, cultural and social development cooperation agreement between Vietnam Airlines and the Hanoi People's Committee to promote the capital's image.
