Singing Contest launched for Hanoi's 70th liberation anniversary

The competition is aimed at finding new talent and serves as a platform for young and promising artists to shine.

The Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 with the theme "Hanoi - a Red Heart" was launched on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day [October 10, 1954 - 2024] with an aim to find and promote young talent between the ages of 16 and 35.

It is open to all Vietnamese citizens living in the city.

Deputy Director of Hanoi's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Van Anh said the Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 would be coordinated by professional organizations and agencies such as the Vietnam Musicians Association, Hanoi Music Association, and leading singers.

"The competition aims to find new talents and serve as a platform for young and promising artists to shine. We encourage contestants to try new songs about Hanoi and their own compositions," she stressed.

It's a prestigious competition that will catapult amateur and unknown singers to professionalism. The winners will have the opportunity to sing at major artistic events in the city.

Hanoi is now a dynamic, creative capital in the process of world integration, which has inspired young people to bring many new perspectives to songs. This is an opportunity to revisit glorious traditions and cultivate love for the Motherland and country.

Contestants will sing songs praising the motherland and the Vietnamese people; about the Party, Uncle Ho, and love for Hanoi - the capital as a City for Peace and a Creative City.

Registration will be open until the end of July at the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports (No.19 Hang Bai Street, Hoan Kiem District). The qualifying and final rounds will be held from August 12 to September 6.
