Palestine’s Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama gave the remarks at the 3rd Congress of the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association – Hanoi chapter for tenure 2022-2027.

On this occasion, Salama expressed his appreciation to the Hanoi Association of Friendship Organization (HAUFO) and the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association – Hanoi chapter for their efforts in bolstering the affection and understanding between the two peoples.

A report from the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association for the 2017-2022 tenure noted despite the severe Covid-19 impacts over the past two years, the association has been working closely with the HAUFO, the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with Palestinian People, and the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam in promoting bilateral relations, especially in jointly organizing the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on November 29, the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Tennis Tournament, business-matching and people-to-people diplomacy events.

For the next five years, the association aims to continue maintaining close cooperation with Middle East countries in general, and Palestine in particular, via peaceful activities.

The congress elected the new Standing Committee including 21 members, in which Director of the Institute for Africa and Middle East Studies Le Phuoc Minh was voted as the Chairman of the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association – Hanoi chapter for the 2022-2027 tenure.

HAUFO’s Vice Chairwoman Tran Thi Phuong highlighted the efforts of the Vietnam-Palestine Friendship Association – Hanoi chapter in the past term and called for the association to foster close ties between local Government and the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam in promoting cooperation in fields of economy, culture, education, and tourism.
