The exchange programs between the audience and the production teams of three new documentaries, to be broadcast live, will offer different perspectives on Hanoi's rich artistic heritage.
Vietnam Television (VTV) will broadcast a series of special programs to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024), according to VTV Deputy General Director Do Thanh Hai.
"In addition to coverage on news programs, VTV has coordinated with the city's Department of Information and Communication to prepare a Hanoi-themed documentary week on its VTVgo app. Twenty special documentaries produced by the state broadcaster, the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, the Sao Khue Film Studio, and independent filmmaker Jean-Noel Poirier (former French ambassador to Vietnam) will be available on VTVgo," Hai said.
Among the TV programs, "Hanoi Song" depicts the spirit of resilient and brave Hanoians; the city of heritage, the sacred land; the place where past, present, and future are connected. Two films - "Dao, Pho va Piano" (Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano) and "Hoa sua ve trong gio" (Milk Flower in the Wind) - will be broadcast on VTV channels on this occasion.

"The beauty of the capital is depicted in the story of each family, each person, highlighting the culture of the people of Hanoi. The films also describe Hanoians as indomitable and urban people, and the city as a land of heritage and a confluence of the past, present and future," Hai added.
“Ha Noi trong mat em” (“Hanoi in her eyes”) and "Mat Lenh Hoa Sua" ("The Milk Flower Secret Order") belong to a television series under the "For the Love of Hanoi" film project, will be broadcast on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024).
The story of "Hanoi in Her Eyes" revolves around five young girls who have different personalities and looks, but are united by their intense affection for Hanoi. The film portrays a new and vibrant Hanoi by exploring intertwined relationships, and surprising and difficult events, mixed with humor and romance.
"The Milk Flower Secret Order" is a film about the soldiers of the Drug Crime Investigation Unit of the Hanoi Police Department. In addition to the story of solving crimes and silent sacrifices, it hopes to bring a multi-dimensional view of a police officer by exploiting his life details, thereby describing a Hanoian with intelligence, talent, kindness, and full of love for the city and its people. The film honors the contributions and sacrifices made by police officers to protect the peace of the capital and the happiness of the people.
It is expected that the films will arouse the young people's love and affection for their country and inspire them to lead a fulfilled life. They will also provide another voice of the seventh art that will enable people to love, admire, and learn more about the country.
VTV will present a special music show featuring famous singers to commemorate the 80-day countdown to October 10, 1954, when the Vietnamese army captured the capital from the French colonialists in the nine-year resistance war that ended with the historic victory at Dien Bien Phu.
The VTV program "Talk Vietnam - Four Corners of the World Remember Hanoi" is a special talk show with the participation of many foreign friends, Hai said.
"The guests will share stories of their deep love as well as their contributions over the years to make Hanoi more beautiful, cleaner, and worthy of being the place where the quintessence of Vietnamese culture and tradition come together," Hai added.
Three brand-new documentaries will be broadcast live from October 4 to 6. The audience-crew exchange events will offer fresh perspectives and innovative storytelling techniques to tell stories about Hanoi's rich past. In particular, the unique artistic and political program "Hanoi - The Epic of the City" will remind audiences of the epic historical turning points.
