Spring Newspaper Festival 2017 wraps up

Hanoi Journalists Association and the municipal Department of Information and Communications held a ceremony to close the Spring Newspaper Festival 2017 on January 18 after two days of ebullient activities.

The organising board gave several awards to participating agencies based on their exhibition space, the covers of New Year’s special editions, articles and TV/radio programmes.

At the Spring Newspaper Festival 2017,  the Economic & Urban and Vietnam Economic Time newspapers were presented the Prize B in the exhibition space award.
The Prize A in the exhibition space award was belonged to Dai Doan Ket  Newspaper, Hanoi Radio and Television and the Capital Labour newspaper .
The work titled "Efforts to develop a modern and civilized capital” by author Khai Lam in the 2017 Spring Newspaper edition of the Economic & Urban Newspaper won the award among good articles writing on Hanoi of Green, Clean and Nice city.
In addition, the organising board also presented the merit certificates  of the mucicipal People's Committee and Hanoi Journalists Association to the participating agencies.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hanoi Journalists Association Nguyen Viem Hoang said the  journalistic products have reported vividly physical changes in the country, introducing to the world the joint, active efforts during the ongoing renewal process as well as the nation-building and defense course. 
During the Spring Newspaper Festival 2017, Hanoi Journalists Association presented the Hanoi Press Award of Ngo Tat To 2016 to 29 works and winnners.
Hoang noted that the festival is one of rewarding cultural activities in the city, helping to introduce good works of newspapers with local readers.
Also on January 18, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy visited the booths at the Spring Newspaper Festival 2017.
The Vice Chairman highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the city’s press agencies in the past year in providing timely information on the social life, policies and laws of the State in various forms in abundance and quality.
While visiting the booth of the Economic & Urban Newspaper, Vice Chairman Quy praised its publications as well as the collective efforts of the staff, reporters, editors in the recent years.
He hoped that the Economic & Urban Newspaper would continue to further promote the important connecting channel between Hanoi authorities, State management agencies with local residents.
The newspaper should focus on providing information on the country’s politic and socio-economy as well as propaganda line of the Party and the State, especially topics of order and urban civilization, Quy suggested.
