The 300-year-old bun tree blooms in early April, releasing a mildly sweet fragrance that adds to Hanoi's romantic charm.
Bun tree, also known as Bach hoa or Capparaceae, blooms only once a year.

The brilliant flowers are pure white at first, then turn bright yellow when they are in full bloom. |
The flowers grow in clusters. The ones in the middle of the cluster are white, while the outer flowers are yellow. |
Each flower carries 13 to 18 stamens, each with about 10 centimeters long. |
The distinctive and unique flowers are short-lived, lasting just one month. |
