Van Phong economic zone plan adjusted

The PM has ratified the master planning for Van Phong Economic Zone in the coastal province of Khanh Hoa by 2030.


 
The Van Phong Economic Zone has a total area of around 150,000 hectares including 70,000 hectares of land and island and 80,000 hectares of water surface in Van Ninh district and Ninh Hoa town in Khanh Hoa province.

The interdisciplinary economic zone focuses on the development of an international container entrepôt seaport, oil refinery industry, tourism, services, industry, aquatic cultivation and other industries.

It also plays a leading role in attracting investment and developing economy in surrounding regions andthe whole country.

Earlier, the PM on March 11, 2005 passed a development plan for the Van Phong economic zone by 2020.
