To celebrate the anniversary of "Vietnam Cultural Heritage", the Management Board of Hanoi’s Old Quarter has held cultural activities in monuments of the old town.
Specifically, from November 20 to November 23, the Management Board of Hanoi’s Old Quarter has organized the series of cultural and art activities to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day.
Performing ca tru (ceremonial singing) for free has been held in the evening of November 20 and 22 at Kim Ngan Communal House (No. 42 – 44 Hang Bac St) and at the Old Quarter Information Centre ( No. 28 Hang Buom St) in the evening of November 21 and 23.
An exhibition themed "Yem – the beauty of Vietnamese costumes" will take place at Dong Lac communal house (No. 38 Hang Dao St) from November 29 to December 31.
The exhibition aims to introduce Hanoians, especially young people and foreign visitors to one of the Vietnamese traditional costumes.
From November 21 to December 31, a photo exhibition entitled "Hanoi’s old images" will be organized at Kim Ngan Communal House.
The exhibition includes various photos of tangible and intangible heritage values in Hanoi’s Old Quarter by a group of photographers who love Hanoi.
Through lens of the photographers, Hanoi was wonderfully reflected with the old town, street food, or people wandering around streets in the first nights of winter.
In addition, more than 40 pictures by Prof. Dr. Arch. Hoang Dao Kinh wiil be on display at an exhibition “Old images and flower colors” at Kim Ngan Communal House on December 23.
Prof. Hoang Dao Kinh is an expert in preservation and restoration of architectural relics and heritages, an architectural theorist and critic, and creates many pictures, with the look of an architect. He has brought the artistic diversity closer to local and foreign audiences, enabled them to experience the images of Old Hanoi and to feel deeply the Vietnam’s heritage image and value.
