Various activities to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day in Hanoi this weekend
A series of cultural activities aim to promote the tangible and intangible cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi among locals and tourists.
Many interesting activities and exhibitions-themed Vietnamese culture will be held at Hanoi's Old Quarter area, starting from this weekend.
The Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter with the cooperation of local tour agents is scheduled to organize a chain of cultural activities to celebrate the 16th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

Accordingly, the exhibition of Ang Phao Traditional Carpentry Village, in Thanh Oai District of Hanoi will run from November 19 to December 15, at the Hanoi’s Cultural Exchange Center (No 50 Dao Duy Tu Street, Hoan Kiem District)
Coming to the exhibition, visitors will have the chance to admire some typical products of Ang Phao carpentry, including carved wooden products with sophisticated antique motifs, and learn about the history of the village. Family members of artisan Nguyen Van Quyet will practice carpentry at the exhibition and introduce to visitors about the woodworking process.
The photo exhibition entitled “Vietnamese Traditional occupations” features 60 selected works from the Vietnam Heritage photo contest will also be held at the same time, from November 19 to December 15, at Ho Guom Cultural Information Center (No 2 Le Thai To Street, Hoan Kiem District).
In addition, the award ceremony of the art design competition entitled “Hoan Kiem - 60 Years of Love” will be held at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center on the morning of November 21.
A Vietnamese folk music performance will take place on the afternoon of November 21 at the Heritage House, 87 Ma May Street, Hoan Kiem District. The event will also be broadcast online via the Facebook profiles of Pho co Ha Noi and Dinh lang Viet.
Through the series of cultural activities, the Organizing Committee wishes to praise the eternal vitality of Vietnamese heritage, the persistent creativity of artisans and craftsmen from Hanoi’s trade villages as well as to promote Hanoi’s cultural values among locals and foreign friends.
