Vietnam Day makes impression at Milan Expo 2015

Traditional music performances during the Vietnam Day at the Expo Milan 2015 in Italy on October 17 have made impression on guests and visitors.

Earlier, addressing the flag-raising to begin the Vietnam Day, Italian Deputy Minister of Environment Barbara Degani said the celebration of Vietnam Day is to honour the country’s achievements as well as its significant contributions to global development, thus helping international friends have better understanding about Vietnam – a dynamic and culturally rich country.
Vietnam’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh highlighted the theme “Water and Lotus” of the Vietnamese Pavilion at the expo.
He noted that the Vietnamese exhibition house has welcomed millions of visitors who came to study the country’s unique culture via traditional art performances, fine art and handicraft products, and traditional dishes.

Minister Anh said Vietnam has been active in coordinating with other countries to cope with global pressing issues, especially challenges posed by water shortage and food security which are the theme of the expo.
He took the occasion to visit the Italian pavilion where he met with Italian Foreign Minister Paulo Gentiloni who said the Vietnamese house is one of the most beautiful pavilions at the expo.
Minister Anh said he hopes through the expo as well as the upcoming State-level visit to Vietnam by Italian President Sergio Matterella from November 6-8, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries will thrive across the fields.
The Expo Milan 2015 is running from May 1 to October 31 in northern Milan city.
