Vietnam-France decentralized partnership conference to promote tourism

The 12th Vietnam-France Decentralized Partnership Conference will provide an opportunity to promote tourism in the capital.

The 12th Vietnam-France decentralized partnership conference will enhance the capital’s reputation as a welcoming, safe, and attractive tourist destination, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

On April 10, the Hanoi Department of Tourism requested travel agencies, organizations, and individuals providing tourism services in the city to work more closely together to offer the best possible service to conference attendees.

The department asked places of interest and accommodation businesses to ensure the best quality of tourism-related goods and services and cater to visitors' various demands. Service prices must be explicitly listed, and security, fire prevention, hygiene and environmental sanitation must be strengthened. Fraud, profiteering, or any other act which tarnishes the image of tourism in the capital is strictly prohibited.

The management of the tourist sites is encouraged to promote the dissemination, work with local authorities to install signage to ensure tourist safety and navigation, and set up hotlines.

Tour operators and transportation providers need to improve the quality of tourism products and services to ensure they are distinctive, appealing, professional, and able to meet the various needs of tourists. Promotional policies with discounts would not be accepted as an excuse for poor service.

Tourist transportation businesses using automobiles and watercraft must conduct quality control checks on their vehicles and drivers and strictly comply with regulations on traffic safety.

The 12th Vietnam-France decentralized partnership conference will take place in Hanoi on April 13-15 to discuss measures to support post-pandemic sustainability and recovery.

Government, organizations and business executives will have the chance to discuss collaboration in key sustainable development issues such as environmental protection, water management, smart city digitalization, heritage preservation, and tourism.

The occasion is one of the main events to mark the 10th anniversary of the bilateral strategic partnership and the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-France diplomatic relations. It is expected to be attended by 800 government officials, business executives, and organization leaders.

The event will feature activities highlighting the long-standing ties between Vietnam and France, including a trade fair showcasing Vietnam’s best products, cultural features, and tourist destinations.

An exhibition of French cuisine and food production technologies will bring together 50 French companies in hospitality, accommodation, agriculture, and food production.

In addition, there will also be the Vietnam-France Business Forum, art performances, and photo exhibitions about Vietnam-France relations.

Hanoi will also take foreign visitors to some of the most well-known landmarks in the city, which have witnessed the long story between the two nations, such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, the Old Quarter, and old French villas.

Most of the conference's preliminary work, including logistics, security, and welcome, has been finished. Detailed plans have been made to ensure that the conference will be safe and successful, leaving a good impression on French delegates and guests from other countries.
