Total tax revenue hits US$71 billion in 2024
Vietnam's total tax revenue for 2024 reached VND1,732 trillion (US$71 billion), marking a 14% increase from 2023. Domestic revenue contributed VND1,440 trillion ($59 billion). The fiscal sector has set a target of VND1,720 trillion (US$71 billion) in state budget revenue for 2025.
Photo contest highlights river basin protection
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment launched a national photo contest on December 19 to promote awareness of river basin protection and sustainable development, the importance of river basins, and water resource protection. Submissions will be accepted from January 1 to April 29, 2025.

Music festival celebrates youth and culture
The 6th Ho Chi Minh City Band and Vocal Group Festival 2024, themed "Harmony of Passion", is now running until December 28 at the Youth Cultural House. Featuring 17 groups from universities and community teams, the festival celebrates the confidence, unity and talent of young people. It promotes artistic exchange, develops vibrant cultural spaces, and honors HCMC's rich musical tradition.
Exhibition highlights military and unity
The "Heroic Army, Strong Defense" exhibition is now on view through December 31 at the National Library of Vietnam to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944-December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989-December 22, 2024). Featuring 800 documents, the exhibition highlights the revolutionary history of the military, its modernization, and the importance of national unity in building a robust, modern defense system.
