Vietnam and Belarus strengthen defense cooperation

Belarusian Defense Minister Khrenin Viktor Gennadievich began an official visit to Vietnam today [December 17] at the invitation of Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Van Giang. Both sides emphasized strengthening defense cooperation through training, exchanges and joint activities, and signed agreements. Khrenin's visit comes as Vietnam prepares to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the International Defense Expo 2024 on December 19-22.

Vietnam boosts exports to Mexico amid rising tariffs

Leading Mexican importers and distributors turned to Vietnam in 2024 for key commodities, including garments, footwear, plastics and wood products, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Luu Van Khang told the Vietnam News Agency. Vietnam's competitive edge is benefiting from Mexico's rising tariffs on non-FTA countries and CPTPP preferences. Bilateral trade is expected to reach $6.4 billion in 2024, an increase of 23%.

Binh Dinh targets US$1 billion tourism revenue in 2025

The central province of Binh Dinh targets 10 million visitors and US$1.05 billion in revenue in 2025 with key events such as the F1 H2O Powerboat Championship, Aquabike International and cultural festivals. The province will also focus on improving services, global promotion, and product diversification.

Vietnamese youth showcase achievements and future goals

An exhibition titled "Vietnamese Youth - Confidently stepping into a new era" is currently on display in Hanoi, showcasing the history and achievements of the Vietnamese Youth Union from 2019-2024. Divided into three thematic areas, it showcases national pride, volunteer initiatives, and key contributions, highlighting youth creativity, entrepreneurship, and community efforts while preparing for the 2024-2029 term.

Photo contest honors heroic army 

The award ceremony for the National Photo Contest "80 Years of Heroic Army" was held today [December 17] in Hanoi to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024). The competition received 4,500 entries and awarded 48 prizes. The winning works will be featured in media and broadcast on Vietnam Defense TV on December 18 at 8:10 pm, bringing powerful and compelling stories closer to audiences
