With 448 out of 451 votes, or 92.75% of the NA deputies present, the NA officially approved a resolution on the release from the deputy prime minister post for Mr. Hue.
In February, Mr. Hue was appointed Hanoi's Party chief by the Politburo, the country’s most powerful body.
Born in the central province of Nghe An, Mr. Hue, 63, experienced various important positions before taking responsibility for the current post.
He had held the post of deputy PM for four years, being in charge of economic affairs, covering national financial and monetary policies, wage renovation, business reforms and development, rural development, and supervising long-stalled projects in the Ministry of Industry and Trade during 2016-2020.
Currently, Vietnam has four deputy prime ministers namely Truong Hoa Binh, Pham Binh Minh, Vu Duc Dam, and Trinh Dinh Dung.
After the release, some fileds of Mr. Hue’s previous work will be undertaken by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, which are finance and banking sector, capital and securities markets, and macroeconomic management.
Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh will supervise the restructuring of state-owned enterprises and long-stalled projects. Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh covers international integration and trade facilitation.
Meanwhile, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam will assume responsibility for policies on poverty alleviation, salary, social insurance, and social affairs. Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung will be in charge of rural development and cooperative economy.
