Representatives of business and policy makers from South Korea, Vietnam and ASEAN nations met and shared successful experiences on economic cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea to seek new cooperation methods in Industrial Revolution 4.0 in the "Korea Night" event on September 11 evening.

"Korea Night" was attended by the WEF’s Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab, Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh, and South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-Wha.
Promoting "South Korea - Vietnam 2.0" cooperation in new context
South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Do-Hyon said that "Korea Night" is an event organized by the Korean government on the occasion of the annual Davos Forum. This is the first time the event has been held in Hanoi within the framework of the regional conference.
This reflects the Korean government and enterprises’ appreciation for Hanoi’s status as the emerging economic hub of Southeast Asia, as well as their great heed given to the relationship with Vietnam.
Ambassador Kim Do-Hyon also expressed his expectation that this would be a meaningful event that the two countries could take advantage of the impetus of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 to build a more successful South Korean-Vietnamese cooperation partnership.
President of the Korean Business Association in Vietnam Kim Jung-In noted it was time for the two countries prepare for "South Korea - Vietnam 2.0" cooperation in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Kim Jung-In also noted that the fields which the Vietnamese government is focusing on such as smart cities, e-government, building information and communication infrastructure are those Korean businesses are advanced in.
Focusing on high-tech cooperation
Addressing the "Korea Night" event, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh conveyed the message of the Vietnamese government to the delegates attending the event: "The WEF ASEAN 2018 is a chance for Vietnam to deepen relations with other nations, including strategic and important partners; thereby strengthening the open and multilateral external relations, diversifying, contributing to creating a peaceful and stable environment for socio-economic development, raising Vietnam’s prestige in the national arena."

He hoped that in the coming time, there would be more cooperation activities related to investment of South Korean enterprises in the fields of industry and high technology in Vietnam, including investment in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park on the outskirts of Hanoi.
“In particular, we are looking forward to witnessing the collaboration between South Korean business and academic community with V-KIST Institute so that V-KIST truly becomes a leading industrial technology research institute in Vietnam and contributes to promoting the two countries’ capacity of innovation," Minister Chu Ngoc Anh said.
