Vietnamese - European culture discovered via 18 documentaries

The 15th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival is slated in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City between September 12 and 18.

THE HANOI TIMES — The 2025 Documentary Film Festival will offer audiences a chance to discover Vietnamese - European culture via 18 outstanding documentaries, along with 11 prominent works from host Vietnam.

Jointly held by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) and the National Documentary and Scientific Film Production Studio (NSF), this year’s festival will feature films which have been honored with awards at prestigious international film festivals.

Trinh Quang Tung, NSF’s Deputy General Director, said that this is an important opportunity to introduce documentaries to both local and international audiences.

"Through the works showcased at the festival, participants can exchange, connect, learn from one another, and deepen mutual understanding, fostering comprehensive relations between Vietnam and European countries," said Tung.

He emphasized that the festival, gathering excellent works from many different cultures, will bring the audience an emotional and meaningful film feast.

In Hanoi, screenings will take place at the NSF, No.465 Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Ngoc Ha Ward. In Ho Chi Minh City, films will be shown at DCINE Ben Thanh Cinema, No.6 Mac Dinh Chi Street, Sai Gon Ward.

The opening ceremony will take place at 6 PM on September 12 at the NSF.
