Vietnamese women entrepreneurs to participate in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit

Vietnamese women entrepreneurs taking part in the annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) from November 28 – 30 in India, are expected to create “goods and services to change society” – which is also the main theme of this Summit.

As such, the Vietnamese delegation will have 13 members, including Lam Thi Thuy Ha, Nguyen Thi Mai Huong, Nguyen Nha Quyen and Can Thi Thanh Hien. Lam Thi Thuy Ha is the co-founder of the website Triip.me, which was established in 2013 and aims to connect local tour guide with tourists. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong founded Color Pencils in 2014, a online teaching program for children under 6 years old. This application has attracted more than 25,000 users when first went into operation. Nguyen Nha Quyen is the director of the Foundation for Vietnam startup ecosystem development. This foundation will support start-ups to innovate, especially in field of agriculture. Can Thi Thanh Hien founded Fresh Deli, an industrial platform supporting housewives to do food business right at home, with an aim to become more independence in term of income level.

This year’s Summit will highlight the theme Women First, Prosperity for All, and will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally. Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump will headline the United States delegation to the Summit.

GES is the preeminent annual entrepreneurship gathering that convenes emerging entrepreneurs, investors and supporters from around the world. GES 2017 will create an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level. Through two and a half days of networking, mentoring, and workshops, GES empowers entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, innovate, and find their target customers -- creating new goods and services that will transform societies.

GES serves as a vital link between governments and the private sector, and convenes global participants to showcase projects, exchange ideas, and champion new opportunities for investment.  Relationships formed at past GES Summits have transcended industries and sectors and transformed ideas into enterprises.

This year is the first time GES will be hosted in South Asia, and the event will highlight India’s enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship. Hyderabad, capital of Telangana state and the home to T-Hub, India’s largest startup incubator, has a robust startup ecosystem, a presence of major U.S. tech firms, and supportive government policies in place to facilitate emerging entrepreneurs.

GES participants will be truly global, with representation from every region of the world. Entrepreneurs will represent a diverse range of geographies, industries, business size and scalability. Investors and representatives from organizations that support entrepreneurs will be hand-picked to catalyze investment, networking, mentoring and hands-on activities. There will be special emphasis on women entrepreneurs and the role they play in making communities more prosperous and secure through enterprise.

The GES 2017 agenda consist of breakout sessions, master classes, and workshops.  Three networking sessions are planned in the schedule to enhance opportunities to interact with other GES 2017 participants.

Breakouts – Panelists will discuss key themes, innovative industries, and other aspects of entrepreneurship that are being highlighted in GES 2017. Capacity of 300-350 people.

Master Class – Master class sessions are immersive, and typically focus in depth on a certain topic. Capacity of 150 people.
