One of the achievements of Viettel is the 4G Evolved Node B, which is designed and produced by Viettel’s engineeers (or eNodeB, a element in E-UTRA of LTE that is the evolution of the element Node B in UTRA of UMTS. It is the hardware that is connected to the mobile phone network that communicates directly wirelessly with mobile handsets (UEs), like a base transceiver station (BTS) in GSM networks). Traditionally, a Node B has minimum functionality, and is controlled by a Radio Network Controller (RNC). However, with an eNB, there is no separate controller element. This simplifies the architecture and allows lower response times.

Viettel has also developed and efficiently operated the core network system, from the call center, message center, charging to transmission and 4G platform. Currently, Viettel has 340,000 km fiber cable, nearly 36,000 broadcast traffic systems (BTSs), 4G coverage of approx. 95% population with 5 Data centers, biggest scale of cloud computing in Vietnam in accordance with Tier 3 international standard, which ensures the security and is operational at the highest level, along with more than 3,000 engineers working in fields of high technologies, devices manufacturing, software, telecommunication system.

Industrial revolution 4.0 is known as the process of smartization of products and services for customers being individual, enterprise, manufacturer to local government, city and even country. Specifically, Viettel has provided many software programs for e-government, such as the population database based on information from the identification, and e-record. Viettel also supports the heath sector in developing the health record for citizens, and the National Immunization Information System.

According to the education, Viettel has implemented practical projects, such as software for national examinations, internet for school with the participation of 40,000 schools and educational facilities, which were provided with internet infrastructures for free. In the agricultural sector, Viettel focuses on smart infrastructure such as the automatic watering system, warning system for the quality of water, land and air to improve productivity and reduce multiple risks.

At major cities, Viettel focuses on tackling with urgent issues such as traffic, environment safeguard and public order. In Hanoi, Viettel is implementing the project of turning every home into a Home BTS (or Home Gateway), which can connect with the government and the public online services through computers or smart phones. In the future, Viettel set the objective of having 24 million households across the country to become Home Gateways, to connect of not only one but hundreds of technological and household devices.

Besides, Viettel is preparing to offer an ecosystem consists of technological solutions for enterprises such as, system of e-office, Distribution Management System DMS, e-payment and e-stamp, as well as other system to enhance the management capabilities of enterprises.
