Wellness resort celebrates Vietnamese culture and environmental conservation
The launch of a luxury resort in Vietnam's central region, dedicated to exceptional service, is expected to attract "responsible travelers" and breathe new life into the local tourism scene.
Namia River Retreat has recently opened its doors to welcome guests in Hoi An Ancient Town, Quang Nam Province. Set on an islet in the picturesque Thu Bon River, the luxurious retreat is inspired by the lush Vietnamese landscape of rivers and evergreen nipa palm forests.

According to Tran Thanh Nam, CEO of HG Holdings, the resort's owner, Namia River Retreat is designed to provide wellness and health services to visitors while promoting environmental sustainability and the use of renewable energy.
"We selected materials from traditional craft villages, highlighting the skills of local artisans. Namia is proud to maintain a strong 'zero plastic' policy, prioritize solar energy, implement advanced wastewater treatment systems and embrace clean energy regeneration," he said.

Tucked away on the island of Con Ba Xa in Hoi An, the 60-villa resort offers cultural experiences and wellness therapies inspired by Vietnamese herbalism. Michelle Ford, CEO of Lumina Wellbeing, said guests' well-being is at the heart of every stay. All resort guests can enjoy a 90-minute wellness journey per person per night, consisting of a 30-minute herbal hammam using locally sourced herbs and a 60-minute traditional therapy to detoxify and calm the mind and body.
"The spa and wellness journey has a distinctly Vietnamese story and is inspired by Thuoc Nam or Southern Herbology. We've also incorporated a visit to our apothecary, Duong Sinh - a traditional Vietnamese morning movement practice, as well as Xong Hoi - a folk remedy steam prescription; and Dien Chan - Oriental facial reflexology into the guest experience," she said.

For dining, the resort follows a "garden to table" philosophy, with vegetables from nearby Tra Que hamlet, tasty Hoi An ducks, and fresh fish from Cu Lao Cham.
Visitors to the resort can also enjoy a variety of activities that offer a deeper connection to the land and people of Hoi An, such as the morning bamboo bike ride, evening cultural cruise, and basket boat rowing through Napa Forest, among others.
