Hanoi Times - Yahoo Vietnam and Intel will collaborate to support Internet accessing spots under the program called Superior Yahoo!
This program was signed between Yahoo
These spots will be linked to other subscriber spots in the same network. They will be eligible to receive awards from Yahoo, use free software in managing Internet accessing spots, participate in sales promoting and marketing projects of Yahoo and Intel and especially get many priorities from Yahoo and Intel’s partners.
At the moment, more than 100 agents and 1000 “Internet cafes” have signed up for the program. Yahoo representative predicts this number to grow to 600 agents and 12,000 Internet accessing spots in the whole country by the end this year.
Statistics released by the Ministry of Information and Communication show that the current number of Vietnamese using the Internet is 21 million, of which the number of people who use the Internet via public accessing spots accounts for 15%. This number is forecast to grow by 35% by 2010 and the number of public Internet accessing spots to increase 15% on a year-on-year basis.
