10th Congress of Vietnamese Student Association in UK boosts youth movement
The event allowed the Vietnam Student Association in the UK to reflect on its achievements in promoting academic excellence and development within the student community in this European country.
The 10th Congress of the Vietnamese Student Association in the United Kingdom, term 2024-2026, was held in London on December 7-8. The event brought together distinguished delegates, including the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK, Do Minh Hung, the Permanent Vice President of the Central Vietnamese Student Association, Ho Hong Nguyen, and representatives from Vietnamese student associations across the UK.
At the Congress, delegates reflected on the notable achievements of the 2022-2024 term, recognizing the Association's critical role in uniting and fostering the growth of the Vietnamese student community in the UK. The Association has made significant progress, maintaining strong community building efforts and active engagement through a network of 46 Vietnamese student organizations at universities and colleges.

Moving forward, the Congress outlined strategic directions for the 2024-2026 term. Key goals include maintaining and expanding student-centered programs, enhancing student awareness and skills, and encouraging active participation in academic pursuits and scientific research.
The Congress elected the 17-member Executive Committee for the 2024-2026 term, headed by President Cao Quoc Dung. A five-member Advisory Board, composed of former secretariat members from previous terms, was established to assist the new Executive Committee in strategic planning and operational management.
Speaking at the Congress, Ambassador Do Minh Hung emphasized the need to cultivate creativity and innovation in the Association's activities in order to make significant progress in the new term. He also shared insights into Vietnam-UK cooperation in education and training, and reaffirmed the Embassy's commitment to supporting student initiatives.
Ho Hong Nguyen, Executive Vice President of the Central Vietnamese Student Association, who participated virtually, expressed the Party and State's confidence in the younger generation. He stressed the need for the Association to promote academic activities, scientific research and the establishment of a young intellectual network in the new term.
Newly elected President Cao Quoc Dung expressed his determination to build a more cohesive and dynamic Vietnamese student community in the UK. He underscored the importance of the student community and vowed to dedicate his efforts to furthering the association's mission while indirectly contributing to Vietnam's growth and prosperity.
