2024 Hanoi Vietnam-China Friendship Sports Tournament boosts people-to-people exchanges

The event served as an opportunity for the friendship between Vietnam and China to be strengthened.

The Vietnam-China Friendship Sports Tournament, organized by the Vietnam-China Friendship Association in cooperation with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, was held on December 6 at the Trinh Hoai Duc Sports Hall.

Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, hailed the improved competence, qualities and skills of officials in designing people-to-people diplomatic programs. She reiterated the need to further promote cooperative activities and people-to-people exchanges as one of the three pillars of Vietnam's foreign policy, in addition to Party diplomacy and state diplomacy, as laid down at the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The two-day event brought together nearly 200 athletes from 12 units. Participants competed in four sports, including badminton, table tennis, sack jumping and tug-of-war.
