THE HANOI TIMES — All four Vietnamese students competing at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025) have won medals, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
The team pocketed one gold, two silvers, and one bronze, highlighting Vietnam’s strong record in the increasingly competitive academic competition.

The gold medal went to Le Kien Thanh, a 12th grader from Le Quy Don High School for Gifted Students in Gia Lai Province.
Meanwhile, the silver medals went to Dang Huy Hau, a 10th grader from Thang Long High School for Gifted Students in Lam Dong Province, and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, an 11th grader at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences under the University of Science of the Vietnam National University-Hanoi.
Ninh Quang Thang, a 12th grader from Ha Long High School for Gifted Students in Quang Ninh Province, bagged the bronze.
The 37th IOI was held in person from July 27 to August 3 in Sucre, Bolivia, with the participation of 330 contestants from 86 countries and territories. With all four students winning medals, Vietnam ranked among the top eight nations on the medal table.
