Nearly 500 cueists compete at HBSF tour 2 2025

The tournament captivates audiences with thrilling matchups and high-level performances across four competitive billiards disciplines.

THE HANOI TIMES — The HBSF Tour 2 MIN Table Cup 2025 runs from July 31 to August 5 at the Phu Tho Ward Sports Service Center in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together 500 cueists from Vietnam and abroad.

The tournament, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), is widely regarded as a premier event in Vietnam’s billiards community and often referred to as the “World Cup of Vietnamese Billiards.”

Tour 2 features four categories, including men’s three-cushion carom, women’s three-cushion carom, men’s 9-ball pool, and women’s 9-ball pool.

Alongside Vietnam’s leading players, the participation of international cueists enhances the tournament’s professional quality.

This year’s tournament has garnered significant attention thanks to the large number of participants and an attractive prize pool totaling over VND450 million (US$17,600).

Notably, Tour 2 marks a milestone in athlete management, as HBSF launches a new data system to update cueist profiles to support training, competition approval, and grassroots development through personalized records.

Notable players in the three-cushion carom event include Chau Hong Thai, champion of the 2025 National Billiards Round 1, along with Do Duc Hien, Nguyen Thanh That, and Nguyen Dinh Chien.

In the 9-ball pool category, top Vietnamese cueists such as Trinh Van Binh, Nguyen Phuong Thao, and Quach Vi Nam compete alongside international contenders like Ko Taeyoung, Kwon Hojun, Kim Suung, and Oliver Guilhot.
