Archbishop of Hanoi extends Tet greetings to municipal government

The Hanoi government promises to create favorable conditions for the Hanoi Archdiocese’s activities.

Archbishop of the Hanoi Archdiocese Joseph Vu Van Thien on January 15 extended Tet holiday greetings to the municipal government at the meeting with Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

At the meeting, Thien thanked the municipal leader for the affection, attention and regular assistance of the Hanoi People's Committee for the activities of the Hanoi Archdiocese in the past year. He appreciated the visit and best wishes conveyed to Catholic dignitaries and followers by Hanoi leaders on the Christmas 2019.

Expressing his delight at the capital city’s development over the past years, Archbishop Joseph Vu Van Thien wished the leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee a happy new year, good health, happiness and success.

For his part, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung thanked Archbishop Joseph Vu Van Thien for the visit and as well as the support of the Catholic community in Hanoi for the capital city.

The Hanoi mayor stressed that in the implementation of Hanoi socio-economic development tasks, the capital city hopes to continue receiving support of all citizens, including the Catholic community, in both material and spiritual aspects.

The Hanoi government will always create favorable conditions for the Hanoi Archdiocese’s activities, Chung pledged.

He also wished the archbishop, religious dignitaries and parishioners of the Hanoi Archdiocese a happy and prosperous new year.
