Artists, intellectuals and religious dignitaries contribute to the development of the capital

Secretary of the City Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue meet Hanoi artists, intellectuals, religious dignitaries and leaders of universities on the occasion of traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year.

Hanoi’s Party Committee, People's Council, government and the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting with representatives of artists, intellectuals and religious dignitaries as well as leaders of universities and colleges in the city on the occasion of welcoming Vietnamese traditional Lunar New Year 2021.

On behalf of the city leaders, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the City Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue thanked the members of the Hanoi Union of Science & Technology Association, Hanoi Union of Literature and Arts Association as well as local religious dignitaries, officials, lecturers and students of universities and colleges for their contribution to the development of the capital city over the recent years and wished them a prosperous New Year.


The Secretary emphasized that Hanoi has big potentials in the fields of science and technology as it is home to 82% of universities, 80% of key scientific research labs and 65% of intellectuals and scientists of the country.


He expected that the intellectuals will continue to promote their roles in the fields of researching, science and technology application, consulting, and social criticism. At the same time, the municipal Party chief called on them to well implementing Program 07 of the City Party Committee (XVII tenure) on promoting development of science, technology and innovation in the term of 2021-2025.


The municipal Party Secretary expected religious dignitaries to join hands with the local authorities to consolidate the unity of the people, maintain social order, discipline and safety, thereby contributing to the construction of the capital and the country.
