Ba Dinh District inaugurates a flower garden to join UNESCO Creative Cities Network

With this latest move, Ba Dinh District has taken a significant step in joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

Authorities of Ba Dinh District today (October 30) introduced the Phuc Xa Flower Garden, marking the district’s entry into UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network for 2024-2025.

The garden, located in Phuc Xa Ward, will be connected to other tourist attractions in Ba Dinh District such as Quan Thanh and Voi Phuc temples, the night culinary and cultural walking zone of Dao Ngoc-Ngu Xa (Truc Bach Ward), and the pedestrian area of Ngoc Khanh Lake (Ngoc Khanh Ward).

The district will announce other activities like the Leng Keng Heritage Project, which brings visitors back to the subsidy days with lots of memories and nostalgias, and the Long Bien Night Market to enhance the distinct tourism offerings of Ba Dinh District.

According to the district People’s Committee, volunteers from the Fatherland Front Committee, the Veterans’ Association, the Youth Union, the Red Cross, and hundreds of residents and officials have worked together to improve the environmental landscape and enrich the soil quality.

They dismantled nearly 100 temporary shelters and livestock pens, leveling and clearing 10 hectares of land that included around 5,000 wild trees.

In particular, the Ba Dinh Women’s Union has planted thousands of square meters of flowers to cultivate a beautiful green space at the heart of the city. their works reflect the district’s vision of creating a greener, happier lifestyle, and making Ba Dinh a vibrant, attractive destination.

“We hope to learn from and share creative ideas, encourage young talents, promote heritage values, protect environmental resources, preserve traditional crafts, and foster sustainable tourism, enriching social life for the community,” said Chairman of the Ba Dinh People’s Committee Ta Nam Chien.

Chairman Chien also called on all Party members, government officials and employees, and residents of Ba Dinh to come up with more initiatives so that the district becomes a hub of creativity where every idea is valued and incubated.
