Explore Vietnamese record made from sticky rice at Autumn Fair

The work represents an innovative fusion of traditional culinary craftsmanship and modern architectural artistry, impressing visitors to the Autumn Fair 2025.

THE HANOI TIMES — A model of the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC), made from 410 kilograms of sticky rice and 100 kilograms of bean, has been officially recognized as a Vietnamese record, within the framework of the Autumn Fair 2025, which is underway in Hanoi's outlying commune of Dong Anh.

The model recreates the largest exhibition complex in Southeast Asia and one of the top ten in the world. It was guided by folk pastry artisan Tran Thi Hien Minh and the Saigon Professional Chefs Association, then crafted by professional chefs of Lac Hong Palace from the northern city of Haiphong.

At a 1:10 scale, the model is 1.8 meters long, 2 meters wide and 80 centimeters high. It was made in three consecutive days.

The record-setting performance was held as part of the “Thu My Vi - Cheer Fest 2025” culinary festival, which accommodates up to 4,500 guests and lasts to November 4.

Visitors to the event can savor culinary delights themed “A Taste of Vietnam – Autumn Delicacies” with signature dishes from 34 provinces and cities nationwide.

They can also enjoy live cooking demonstrations by master chefs who capture the essence of authentic Vietnamese flavor and showcase the soul of Vietnamese cuisine.

Furthermore, experiencing Cheer Fest, visitors can witness extraordinary performances by legendary chefs, including Benoit Leloup, Benoit Chaigneau, Don David, Pham Tuan Hai and Tran Thi Hien Minh.

Alongside global flavors are dynamic performances by DJs, circus and magic acts, interactive games such as the Beer Drinking Challenge, creating an exuberant festive atmosphere unique to the Cheer Fest 2025.

The first Autumn Fair, running till November 4, blends technology, entertainment and cultural activities rich in traditional Vietnamese identity, as well as over 130,000 square meter of shopping space packed with thousands of regional specialties and OCOP products.
