FIATA World Congress 2025 opens in Hanoi with green logistics focus

Vietnam hosts FIATA World Congress 2025 in Hanoi, gathering 1,000 global leaders to drive green logistics, digital transformation and sustainable supply chains.

THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam officially opened the FIATA World Congress 2025 in Hanoi on October 6, marking the country’s debut as host of the world’s largest logistics event.

The five-day congress, themed “Green Logistics, Fast Adaptation”, has drawn more than 1,000 delegates from 150 countries and territories, including leaders of countries, policymakers, industry leaders and international experts.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to attend the plenary session, underlining Vietnam’s growing role in the global supply chain.

The event features high-level discussions, seven thematic workshops and an international exhibition with over 120 booths showcasing cutting-edge green logistics solutions, digital platforms, and sustainable transport models.

A modern B2B networking platform is also being deployed to connect businesses, foster partnerships and create opportunities for investment and innovation.

Organized annually by the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), the congress is considered the most prestigious global logistics gathering. For Vietnam, securing the hosting rights after years of preparation is not only a step forwar but also a recognition of its strategic importance in global trade and logistics networks.

At the heart of this year’s agenda are pressing issues shaping the industry, including green supply chains, digital transformation, e-commerce, resilient infrastructure and cross-border trade restructuring.

The discussions will map out strategic directions for a sector facing increasing demands for sustainability and adaptability.

The congress also provides a stage for Vietnam’s domestic companies, such as small and medium-sized enterprises, to engage directly with international partners, learn about new customs regulations, carbon border logistics strategies, and global standards. It is seen as a springboard for Vietnamese businesses to scale up and integrate deeper into the global market.

The exhibition space places strong emphasis on green and smart technologies designed to reduce emissions and optimize transport efficiency. It also offers hands-on experience for policymakers, business leaders and experts to witness the future of logistics, from digital freight platforms to sustainable rail and waterway transport solutions.

Hosting the FIATA World Congress for the first time not only reinforces Vietnam’s image as a dynamic, open and sustainable economy but also showcases Hanoi as a rising hub for international trade and logistics dialogue.

For the global logistics community, it is a platform to exchange visions, align strategies and shape the future of a more resilient and sustainable supply chain.
