He also voiced hope that the Vietnamese Embassy will continue holding activities to bolster the partnership between the two countries. Briefing his host on the socio-economic situation and major external policies of Vietnam, Ambassador Doanh expressed hope that Vietnam-Uganda relations will be beefed up.

He proposed the two sides increase delegation exchange and the sharing of information on economic potential in each country, creating opportunities for enterprises of both sides to meet and seek partnerships. Vietnam and Uganda should also consider signing a memorandum of understanding between the two governments on cooperation in economics, trade, investment, financial-banking services, and tourism, he said.

He also thanked the Uganda Government for supporting Vietnam in its run for the seat of Director-General of the UNESCO, while suggesting Uganda continue backing Vietnam at international organisations, as well as Vietnam’s candidacy for non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2020-2021.
